Traditional & Full of Character

Sorry, we do not currently manufacture English or European Oak flooring. Please see our American White Oak page. Our northern timber is similar in appearance to European, but harder and more durable

English Oak - ( Quercus robur or Quercus petraea ) has been used for centuries for building the strongest ships and adorning the finest houses.

Our Oak is from Cumbria where the variable climate and geology give our English Oak flooring it's unique colour and character.

Wild grain, small pin knots and burrs are an attractive and acceptable part the appearance of the timber in all the grades. The timber mellows and darkens with time. The English Oak floors are graded into Classic, Character and Rustic.

Customers should also consider the Appalachian White Oak which is heavier and harder than English Oak and is selected for its similar colour and grain.  We also carry much larger stocks of this timber because the the timber is readily available.
