An rich, dark coloured timber. It is incredibly hard and heavy and may be used were very heavy traffic is expected.
As the name suggests, it has some characteristics of walnut and may be used as a more resiliant substitute.
The colour varies from mid brown to a dark chocolate brown with red and green hues. There may be a few pin knots, straight or swirling grain and some darker stripes - similar to those in Rosewood.
It is available as a 127mm wide and only as classic grade.
